State surveillance in NZ - a petty and dirty history…

I knew Mr Gilchrist when I was an activist. I didn't like him. Too brash and full of his own self-importance. I also noticed one 16-year-old activist looked uncomfortable when he sat next to her. But I never suspected him of being a spy, mostly because other activists who had been there longer seemed to trust him. It was only after he was busted that they told me they never liked him either.

I don't know what the solution is to prevent further infiltration, but I guess a first step is to acknowledge it happens, and to be honest with each other about our feelings and intuitions of fellow activists.
